Legal Help Desk

Justice Is a Right, Not a Privilege

Justice should never be limited to those who know the law or can afford legal services. Every citizen has the right to seek help, guidance, and protection—especially in cases involving cyber fraud, financial scams, online harassment, and misuse of digital platforms.

Across India, thousands of people fall victim to cyber crimes every day. Unfortunately, many are unaware of reporting procedures, legal remedies, or the correct steps to take. Our Legal Help Desk exists to bridge this gap by providing free guidance, awareness, and support, helping citizens move toward justice with confidence.

Free Legal Guidance

We provide basic legal guidance for matters related to cyber crime, online fraud, identity misuse, digital harassment, and RTI-related concerns. Initial guidance is provided free of cost and is aimed at helping citizens understand the nature of the issue and possible next steps.

Our support is delivered with the help of qualified advocates and trained legal volunteers who work in alignment with ethical and lawful practices.

Complaint & Reporting Assistance

Reporting a cyber crime can often feel overwhelming, especially for individuals who are unfamiliar with legal procedures or official reporting platforms. Many victims are unsure about where to begin, which authority to approach, or how to present their case correctly. Our Legal Help Desk provides clear, step-by-step guidance to help citizens understand the cyber crime reporting process and take informed action without unnecessary delay.

We assist individuals in navigating official government channels by explaining how to file cyber complaints correctly and responsibly. Our team helps citizens understand the process of reporting incidents through the national cyber crime reporting portal or the designated helpline, ensuring that complaints are lodged through the appropriate and lawful platforms.

Legal Awareness & Education

Prevention begins with awareness. Through our legal awareness initiatives, we conduct sessions focused on digital rights, cyber laws, RTI awareness, and online safety. These programs are designed for students, women, senior citizens, and community groups, helping them recognise risks and respond responsibly before harm occurs.

Victim Support & Guidance Network

Victims of cyber or financial fraud often experience stress, fear, and uncertainty. Our Legal Help Desk works in coordination with verified legal professionals, non-profit partners, and official channels to ensure victims receive reliable guidance. We also recognise the emotional impact of such incidents and aim to provide supportive, empathetic assistance throughout the guidance process.

Documents Required for Assistance

To understand your concern accurately and provide appropriate guidance, certain basic information and supporting documents may be required. These documents help our team assess the nature of the issue, identify the type of cyber or financial incident involved, and guide you through the correct reporting or legal process in a responsible manner. Sharing complete and accurate information also helps reduce delays and ensures that guidance is relevant to your situation.

As part of the assistance process, you may be asked to provide proof of identity such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, or passport. This helps verify the complainant’s identity and ensures that guidance is provided to the rightful individual. In addition, details related to the incident—such as complaint descriptions, screenshots of messages, emails, calls, or application interfaces—are often essential for understanding how the issue occurred.
